Monday of the Second Week of Advent
Reflection Questions
"Strengthen the hands that are feeble, make firm the knees that are weak, say to those whose hearts are frightened: Be strong, fear not!  Here is your God!"  How does this message of encouragement uplift you?  In what ways do you need to be strengthen and made firm?  Why is it sometimes difficult to let go of our fear?

"Streams will burst forth in the desert, and rivers in the steppe.  The burning sands will become pools, and the thirsty ground, springs of water."  What are you thristy for?  How does the living water of God fill you up right now?

"But not finding a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on the stretcher through the tiles into the middle in front of Jesus."  What lengths are you willing to do through to reach Jesus?  How have you been determined to place yourself in Jesus's midst?
"Then astonishment seized them all and they glorified God, and, struck with awe, they said, 'We have seen incredible things today, Lord."  What are the incredible things you have seen today that have been given to you by God?
Prayer
Lord of encouragement, make us strong and may our hearts not be frightened!  Let us not be overwhelmed by fear, but find our comfort and encouragement in the living waters of Your Love for us.  May we be as determined as the friends of the sick man to be ever closer to God and seek Him out always in our time of need for healing.  May we never grow weary or apathetic, but recognize the incredible things God does for us and give glory to God.  Our God will come to save us!
